Pythagoras
Pythagoras of Samos (c. 570-495 BC) was a Greek philosopher and mathematician, founder of the Pythagorean school in Crotone (southern Italy). Traditionally attributed: the famous theorem, music theory, but above all the doctrine that "all is number" — number is the essence of the universe. Spiritual father of Western numerology.
Numerological legacy
The Pythagorean school taught that each number 1-9 has a quality and a vibration. Modern numerology (Cheiro and Mrs. Balliett in the 19th-20th centuries) systematized this idea into the system we use today.
