Four Elements
The term elements in esoteric context refers to the fundamental categories of nature. The most popular Western system: four classical elements (fire, water, air, earth + ether). The Chinese system: five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water).
Hindu system
Hinduism: pancha mahābhūta — earth (prithvi), water (apas), fire (tejas), air (vayu), ether (akasha). Five elements correspond to the five chakras lower than the third eye.
