Tasseography
Coffee divination (or tasseography) is the reading of coffee grounds left in the cup. Practice originally Ottoman (16th-17th centuries), spread throughout Europe with the diffusion of coffee from the 17th century. The reader interprets the symbolic shapes formed by the grounds: animals, letters, geometric figures.
Method
Drink Turkish-style coffee (with the grounds at the bottom). Turn the cup over the saucer; let it rest. Read the figures formed by the grounds on the inner wall of the cup.
